10 MOST IMPORTANT things to do after Hurricane Harvey house flood

Now that Hurricane Harvey has left his mark on our city and the water is now receding, it’s time to go into recovery and repair mode.  The 3 main things to do first is to first contact family to ensure them of your safety and theirs, contact the insurance company and then file a claim on the FEMA website.  Contact your insurance agent/claims adjuster, they will typically approve a certain level of sheetrock removal. 4 feet is standard if there was less than 3 feet of water in the home. Cut the sheetrock with a razor blade. Put a hole in the wall and grab and pull. Remove insulation from that same area. Feel above the dampened insulation. If it is damp, go 2’ more up. Once you are sure you have all the wetness gone and are down to the studs, spray with bleach. You don’t want mold to grow. Make sure your windows are open.  10 Important things to do after a major flood: Call your mortgage company, car loan company, student loans & credit card companies. Ask them for a 3 month reprieve from payments. There should ...

2017 Total Solar Eclipse Was AMAZING

Monday August 21st 2017 will be remembered as the day everyone was in awe as they looked up into the sky as the first coast to coast total solar eclipse since Woodrow Wilson was president! It had been 99 years since America's last Pacific-to-Atlantic total solar eclipse in 1919, and 38 years since the last such eclipse occurred in the continental U.S. That was 1979, before almost half of Americans alive Monday were born. My family and I were able to hang out in our front yard to witness this spectacular event along with many of our neighbors. Some had homemade viewing devices, fashioned from cardboard and a plastic filter. Others had special viewing glasses. Witnessing the moon cover the sun was certainly was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. I read an article online that even astronomers were stunned. "The sun disappearing in midday? The stars coming out? Truly special,'' said Steve White, the director of Fresno State University's Downing Planetarium. Now, we are all looking forward to the next one in ...

The answer is YES! A new construction home has a lot of advantages, but many buyers make the false assumption that they can save money by not using their own Realtor when purchasing a new home. But this is not true. You may not know this but the commission for your Realtor is legally part of the purchase price. If you are not using your own Realtor, the builder simply receives an extra 3% from your purchase.   Basically, it’s free for you to use a Realtor.  Yes I said FREE! Builder sales reps represent the builder. Often builders have their own agents on site to answer questions, assist people who walk in, and ultimately help with a purchase. New Water Park Coming to North Houston

HAVE YOU HEARD?! I'm sure many of us who drive up and down I-45 north can see the amount of people lined up to get on the rides at Wet 'n' Wild Splash Town. The full parking lot definitely is a sign that Houstonians LOVE water parks. Well great news! We are getting another! The Grand Texas Theme Park is finally moving forward with the construction of the new water park, which is located near the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Hwy. 242 just north of Kingwood. An article I read from the Community Impact Newspaper said they will possibly be done with the water park by spring 2018. It was music to my ears when I read that the Grand Texas will be about the same size as Six Flags AstroWorld! They also stated that when the construction is finalized they plan to open a sportsplex and a factory outlet mall! How awesome is this! You can send the kids off with dad to play at Grand Texas while mom gets to enjoy a day of shopping. To read more about this article visit : Community Impact
